BMW e39 M5 Car Digital TV Appraisal

I am a member of the BMW Car Club of GB and following the digital switchover in my area The North West of England the on board TV in my 1999 e39 M5 stopped working.

The solution from BMW would cost approx £900 for a digital module, second hand these are £500 so I decided to buy a BMW-UTVS1 digital upgrade kit from Love My Auto in Edinburgh. I fitted the kit in approx 2 hours and the results are brilliant I now have about 80 channels and they are crystal clear.

I also have to say the customer care, service and advice on fitting I received from the owner Russell was the best I have ever received ( nothing was too much trouble).

If you own a BMW made before 2005 with a analogue TV this is your answer.

Hello

I have a 530i BMW and wanted digital TV just so everything worked!. Twin tuner unit works excellently linked to existing car aerials via the Phantom leads. I mounted the eye on a little stalk above the child seat anchor on the rear shelf – easy place to get to. Remote works aimed at the rear view mirror.

Thanks Russell – appreciated a device which was basically plug and play (I took power off the nav unit feed – scraped back the insulation on the accessory wire and soldered the power lead on there.)

Very quick service and outstanding communication.

    I am also a member of the BMW Club of GB and drive an e38 1999 7 series.
    Although I still receive good analogue service I thought it best to seek alternatives reaqdy for the switch.But was proving to be expensive.
    So whilst reading the BMW Club magazine I read an article about Love My Auto.
    I eventually rang Russell(the owner)and soon received my BMW-UTVS1 kit.
    It took afew hours to fit but its really straight forward and easy to install and now I have fantastic digital viewing.
    I would like to thank Russell and his technical guy Shaun for their absolute patience and very very kind and helpful service.
    They were always happy to help.

      Your attention to detail and assistance is 2nd to none, and you have help me no end with your remote eye placement and suggestion as this effectively means an easier install for those individuals who are looking to upgrade in the future. I am also pleased that my Phantom patch lead antennas have worked out for us and that you do not have to place my internal glass mount aerials on your windscreens.

    Got one of there new systems with twin aerial and twin tuner great little system and so easy to install took me less than a hour to fit into my rover 75.

    It was that easy i didnt even need to ring them back for help which i bet they have a great service.

    Thank you so much not only for the fantastic TV system you supplied for my Range Rover Vogue, but for your continued support. Never have I encountered a more helpful person and one who offers not just superb customer service that is so sadly lacking in this country but whos customer service is second to none. To those of you reading this Russells help with the installation of this system at the time of purchase was superb and when I had a problem with it almost a year later Russell took it back, repaired it and sent it back to me all in under 3 days without even questioning it. This man could teach the retailers and shop owners of this country the meaning or the phrase “Customer Service”. Thanks Russell absolutely brilliant I would not hesitate for a second to buy another product from you or to come to you for advice. Long may you continue.

    I drive a 2003 530i Touring and having lost my analogue channels in the switchover I have been shopping around for an upgrade to Freeview and decided to use Park My Auto in Edinburgh because the price was competitive and Russell was so helpful. As well as putting in a new digital tuner, I decided to add a rearview camera and opted for phantom aeriels hidden in my rear bumper.
    It took me about a day to complete the install with excellent e-mail and telephone support from Russell. I ran the remote eye to the front of the car and fixed it near the inbuilt screen in my dashboard.
    The results are excellent – clear channels on the TV as well as Digital radio and hardly any sign of anyhting non-standard in the car.
    Highly recommended!
