I am in the process of developing one of my products the CKO DAB2011 V2 along with our Audi RNSE-INFO vehicle specific front screen AV interface that will provide an OEM style DAB and DAB+ upgrade that will display onto your front screen, you will then be able to control the DAB menu via your normal on-dash buttons / infotaiment controls. This set up will also give you a spare AV auxiliary input, should you wish to upgrade your front screen further to add-on alternative AV sources such as a DVD player, digital TV tuner, iPod/iPhone/iPad etc.
The RNSE-INFO Audi specific front screen interface we have developed, will also activate VIM (Video In Motion / TV On The Move) to retain the DAB channel menu on your screen whilst driving, or should you add-on a separate Video source for front screen passengers to watch whilst you are driving.
Initially, there will be two styles of antenna available with this, my Zorro internal glass mount aerial and an external glass mount DAB whip + antenna. It may also be possible to replace your current roof antenna with a body mount aerial that will capture your FM, GPS and DAB radio signals. As I advised earlier, the industry is attempting to come up with a DAB spiltter vehcile specific solution, that may enable us to utilise your existing aerial – time will tell.
