Installation And Fitting Instructions Supplied

We do not generally advocate self installation although, these innovative upgrade kits are not too difficult to install and basic instructions are indeed supplied for those of you DIY enthusiasts who have a general knowledge of car electrics, help will be at hand if required. All of the installation of our upgrade kits takes place in the boot of your vehicle beside your existing Lear analogue TV tuner, with no need to go behind the front navigation screen.

There are three parts to the installation:-

• Plug and Play (Passive AV Interface) Connection
• Connection Of The New TV Tuner Module (Positive, Negative Feed And Accessory Live Feed Required).
• Remote Eye And Internal Aerial (3.5m Cable) Installation Inside The Cabin Of Your Vehicle

All of our upgrade TV tuners, are small enough to place beside your existing lear TV tuner module in your boot, with all connection cables hidden from sight. You will then require to run the remote eye (the size of the nail on your middle finger), inside the cabin and also to run the upgrade antenna and cable which requires to be placed on clear glass if possible. The remote eye could be installed at the top of the rear windscreen (bang in the middle), where the head cloth meets the windscreen, aim the remote control at the rear view mirror and you will be able to select your favourite TV channels on your front screen.

Where Do I Install My Antennas 

If you have purchased our Basic upgrade kit with 1 x Antenna, this can be installed either at the top of the rear windscreen above the heated elements, on the rear quarter windows or worst case scenario, on the top left hand side of the front windscreen.

If you have purchased one of our Classic or Executive upgrade kits, the ideal positioning of the twin antennas, is one on the front windscreen (top left hand corner passenger side), and one on the rear windscreen (top right hand corner driver side), or one on each quarter window.

I Do Not Want Ugly Glass Mount Aerials 

If you have purchased either our Classic or Executive upgrade kits and you do not want any antennas showing on your internal windows, you have the option of further upgrading to our phantom (hide away) antennas which are installed either externally (under a spoiler for example), or inside your bumpers, there is no need to remove the bumper to install these. These are fully waterproofed active 5V feed antennas, and offer outstanding performance.  The standard price of our phantom aerials is £89.95, but the price is subsidised to £59.95 if you have purchased one of our twin TV tuner receiver upgrade kits.

UK Nationwide Installation & Fitting

Installation of our systems would take no more than 1 – 2hrs to complete and if required, we should be able to arrange a local installer to come to you for this purpose – maximum installation price would be £120.00 + Vat or £120.00 cash on satisfactory completion.

Our Volkswagen VW-UTVS1RNS2, MFD and MFD2 Single TV Tuner system 1 upgrade kit incorporates an AV interface cable that connects into your existing TV tuner. This interface provides 2 x AV inputs so you can connect your new digital TV tuner  and one further AV source such as a reversing camera or DVD player.

This latest generation entry-level HD MPEG2 & MPEG4 (DVB-T) free view TV tuner comes complete with a plug and play (no separate power source required) 5V feed single internal glass mount antenna. it incorporates a USB input which will allow you to connect a normal MP3 player and download WMA or music files onto a USB stick / dongle to play via your vehicle speakers with your track lists showing on your front screen. It also incorporates a further AV input (feed a separate DVD player into this for example), which will allow you have up to three separate AV sources TV, USB and DVD) for playing on and through your front screen. The TV tuner Dimensions are as follows: 118mm (L) x 142mm (D) x 40mm (H). For those of you who are competent with car electrics, installation is straight forward with only three connecting wires: permanent 12V, ignition 12V and earth. On Installation, the TV tuner and all cables can be completely hidden from sight apart from a remote eye (the size of the nail on your middle finger) for the TV tuner remote control which requires to be fed inside the car and can then be fitted anywhere up front say on the dashboard or above the rear view mirror, aim your remote control at this and you can switch channels via the menu on your front screen. The sound from the TV tuner will be played as normal through your vehicle speakers.

These brand new 4th generation twin internal glass mounted antennas are best installed one in the middle of the top of the front windscreen and the other in the same position on the rear windscreen to provide full 360 degree signal capture coverage of the vehicle. These can however be installed on the rear quarter windows one on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. The width of the antennas are 144mm, Width 38mm and height is 7mm. Installations And Fitting Instructions Supplied

On Installation, the TV tuner and all cables can be completely hidden from sight apart from a remote eye (the size of the nail on your middle finger) for the TV tuner remote control which requires to be fed inside the car and can then be fitted anywhere up front say on the dashboard or above the rear view mirror, aim your remote control at this and you can switch channels via the menu on your front screen. The sound from the TV tuner will be played as normal through your vehicle speakers.

These brand new 4th generation twin internal glass mounted antennas are best installed one in the middle of the top of the front windscreen and the other in the same position on the rear windscreen to provide full 360 degree signal capture coverage of the vehicle. These can however be installed on the rear quarter windows one on the left hand side and one on the right hand side. The width of the antennas are 144mm, Width 38mm and height is 7mm. These operate via a 5V feed directly from the TV tuner and will require to be switched on (green indicator LED on each antenna) via the on screen TV tuner menu.
